I love making and creating things, especially centered around holidays. With Valentine’s just around the corner, we wanted to make some fun and cute decorations for our house, as well as have some fun gifts for the kids to give their teachers this week. Today we made DIY Glitter Vases. I love how they turned out. They were super easy and inexpensive and added a lot to the decor. I also know that they will make great gifts with a single rose and a few treats attached.

DIY Glitter Vases {tutorial and pictures}

To start you will need a vase. We did several at once so that we can use them for gifts this week. We got bottles of red, pink, silver and gold glitter at Walmart, and pulled out our Mod Podge and acrylic sealer. I also grabbed painters tape so I could have a nice edge to the glitter. This is optional but highly recommended. ย Tape off where you want to paint – just once around.

After you have it taped off, take the Mod Podge and paint a even (but not overly thin) layer where you want the glitter. I did mine too thin the first time and the glue in some places before I was able to sprinkle glitter on it. Once you have an even layer, sprinkle the glitter on the vase evenly. I put a piece of paper under the vase so that I could dump the unused glitter back into the jar. After they have dried for about 30 minutes, take the vase and the can of sealer outside and spray a light even coat over the glitter. Be careful not to get it on anything else (it will be sticky and stain).ย I used a paper towel to wipe off any extra ย mess. I would also put them upside down to dry.

After the sealer has dried, you can add the flowers. I love how beautiful the DIY Glitter Vases turned out! I got a little water on the side while I was filling it and just used a paper towel to pat it dry and it worked great. No glitter came off.

These DIY Glitter vases are great for your home decor, teacher gifts, weddings, Valentine’s Day parties, birthday parties and more! I would love to hear how your experience went, and what you used it for!

      Hi ๐Ÿ™‚
      You can get a dishwasher-safe Mod Podge and apply it over the dried glitter. It would need to dry completely, then you should be good to go.

    Such a beautiful & creative DIY work that I would love to step in & give a try, though I can see it is not that easy. The glitter color choices are great & this could be a wonderful gift idea for Valentine’s day.
